Independent Radio Sales has attracted a number of potential bidders, the outcome of which will be known within the next three weeks. Amongst the interested parties are a consortium backed by an American radio sales house, KATS and another backed by David Reich formerly of Carat.

FCO is considering a merger with its sister agency, EURO RSCG, following the announcement that it is to make 10 of its staff redundant. The decision has to be faced because of a recent fall in accounts, the main loss being a £2.5m Panasonic billing, which has been moved to McCann-Erickson.
Central Television’s pre-tax profits for the year ending December 31 1992 are as follows:Pre-tax profit: £41.06m (£42.45m)Earnings per share: 94.4p (56.1p)Turnover: £333.19m (£306.65m).
Following ITV’s recent decision to revamp Children’s ITV it has now been announced that children’s programmes will be included in sponsorship packages, with Saturday morning show Gimme 5 being the first up for grabs. What’s Up Doc, due to take over from Gimme 5 in August will also be available for sponsorship.
