The Telegraph Group recorded a 9% increase in pre-tax profits yesterday, rising to £44.3m with turnover also increasing from £219m to £237m. Operating profit went up by 14% to £37.5m and earnings per share decreased to 23.8p from 30.1p. The rise in profits is being partly accredited to a substantial increase in the cover price.
