Channel 5 has been forced to change its plans for its weekend of big sports coverage due to a clash in kick-off times.
The football World Cup qualifier between England and Poland and the Rugby Union Test match between England and Argentina, to be screened on Saturday 31 May, were originally billed as being shown live and back-to-back.
It has now transpired that only the football match will be shown live, with a “live” recording of the rugby game being shown immediately after. The time difference between Europe and South America means that both games will be taking place simultaneously. C5 said that they had asked for the rugby kick-off to be changed but this could not be accommodated.
