Changes At Eva And IPC Yachting Portfolio

IPC will be unveiling a new look Eva in March. The weekly title will be targeting a younger, “sexier” audience of 18-24 year olds whilst maintaining its high real-life feature content but will give additional focus to celebrity interviews, reviews and younger, trendier fashion and beauty. The title will also increase its cover price from 47p to 60p.

Printed on improved coated paper with a glossy cover and redesigned logo, the new Eva will carry the strapline “for the girl who wants it all.” The title will also be supported by an extensive press campaign in IPC titles and a heavyweight retail promotion.

Eva experienced one of the largest year on year drops among the women’s weekly sector in the Jul-Dec ’97 ABCs, with a fall of 17% to 216,575. For a report on this sector, subscribers should click July – December 1997 ABCs – Women’s Weeklies Sector.

…IPC’s Country and Leisure Group has announced the appointment of Suzanne Russell as publisher of its yachting titles. She previously worked at Newsquest, where she was group ad manager for a range of newspapers on the south coast.
