Channel 4 Summer Programme Launch

Today Channel 4 unveiled its summer programme schedule. It includes a wide and varied reach of programmes which include a bank holiday weekend devoted to science fiction called The Final Frontier; a 50th anniversary rememberance of Hiroshima; a strand of programmes examining the death penalty, called Lethal Justice, and a season of programmes for gay people called Dyke TV.

On the entertainment front there is a one-off comedy drama from one of the creators of Drop The Dead Donkey called Eleven Men Against Eleven, a story of everyday football folk. The return of the improvisation quiz show Whose Line Is It Anyway?, One for The Road starring Perrier nominee Alan Davies and The Long Johns which feature the uncut versions of John Bird and John Fortunes head-to-head in Rory Bremner’s Who Else? Outside broadcasts from the channel include the second visit of the year to Glyndebourne for the last night of the festival, for the second year running exclusive live coverage of Glastonbury and traditional daily coverage of the Tour de France.

Channel 4’s Century of Cinema continues with the films, Like Water for Chocolate, Cronos, Schooldaze, Hairspray, and Cinefile.
