Channel 4 Winter Schedule
Channel 4 has announced details of its new winter programme schedule. Among the highlights there is the return of comedy favourites Dressing For Breakfast, Cybill and Roseanne as well as a new comedies Spin City, which stars Michael J. Fox and Captain Butler featuring Craig Charles. There will also be a five part documentary series which examines comedy and what makes people laugh presented by Howard Jacobson called Seriously Funny.
There will also be the launch of what Channel 4 hopes will be its first Saturday night audience winner since Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush, called Last Chance Lottery. Presented by Patrick Kielty, Last Chance Lottery is for the 99.9% of the population who have never won the lottery and will feature a sumptuous mixture of games, songs and comedy. The Film On Four season ends with the premiere of Shallow Grave.
The Girlie Show returns to Friday nights on Channel 4 with a new look and a new presenter. Also returning is Cutting Edge, Channel 4 flagship documentary series. New shows this winter include: Here’s Johnny, a weekly chat show presented by Johnny Vaughan and Dani Dares, in which Dani Behr tries out various different occupations each week. There will also be a repeat of the classic 80’s drama The Jewel in the Crown.
Channel 4 will turn into a 24-hour station from January, with the extra hours taken up with a sequence of factual programmes some nights and entertainment and movies on Fridays and Saturdays
Sporting coverage includes: the return of NBA Basketball; the American Football Super Bowl; Board Stupid and the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
