Channel 5 Broadcasting has announced the appointment of Corinne Hollingworth as Controller of Drama.
Corinne joins C5B from BBC TV where she has produced two of the BBC’s most successful dramas, EastEnders and Casualty. She is currently Executive Producer on EastEnders and has been a Producer on Casualty since 1993.
Corinne Hollingworth said, “I’m looking forward to the prospect of being involved at the beginning of something as challenging as a new terrestrial channel.”
The appointment seems to be proof of C5B’s intention to broadcast populist drama. Mooted programming for the new channel includes a Casualty-style serial called Lifeline, Jericho Lane, about trainee police officers, and DJ’s, about an inner-city legal aid practice.
