Channel 5 announced this week that Chris Shaw is to become its new controller of news, current affairs and documentaries. He replaces Tim Gardam, who has been appointed director of programmes at Channel 4.
Shaw is currently editor of 5 News, and said of the move: “I’m thrilled to be taking on this challenge at Channel 5. Factual programmes have been one of the channel’s distinctive successes and I hope to build on that. I’m also delighted to be maintaining my links with 5 News.”
