According to a report in today’s FT, the government’s technical advisers have decided that it is possible to go ahead with a new conventional Channel 5 without jeopardising future digital television prospects.
A report by the government’s technical advisers, the Radio Communications Agency, was delivered to the National Heritage Department on Friday. Ministers will consider the advice and hope to make their decision known to the ITC by the end of the month. The Department of National Heritage declined to comment this morning on the contents of the actual report.
