Channel Five Secures Sponsor For New Moyles Show

Channel Five has secured drinks brand Carling as the sponsor of its new early evening entertainment series, Live With Chris Moyles, which is scheduled to begin at the end of September.

The £500,000 sponsorship package will include opening and closing credits, break bumpers and exposure across the channel.

Channel Five has called the new show the “highlight of the autumn schedule” and for the next three weeks it will be heavily promoted on 96 and 48-sheet posters nationwide. There will also be ads in the national tabloid and broadsheet press.

Jonathan Lewis, head of sponsorship at Five, commented: “Live with Chris Moyles promises to be a great show. It’s going to provide a perfect fit for Carling.”

The new show will be broadcast live, starting on the 23rd September, for 13 weeks. The programme’s executive producer is Chris Evans, who has been out of the spotlight since his contract to present the breakfast show on Virgin Radio was terminated last year. Evans recently announced his return to broadcasting at the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival (see GEITF 2002: Evans Announces Return To UK Media).

Channel Five has recently undergone an extensive re-branding, which included changing its logo from the number 5 to the word five (see Channel 5 Relaunched As Five).
