Channel Shadow Boxes Bruno
As the countdown continues to the Bruno versus Tyson WBC title fight which takes place on Sunday, Live TV have come up with a novel way of getting around the pay-per-view subscription charge being imposed by Sky Sports. Live TV will erect a boxing ring in its Canary Wharf headquarters in London Docklands. Two boxers will re-enact the fight at 4.00am British time on the Sunday.
Using radio and TV feeds – presumably from BSkyB – the boxers will be given their instructions by a ‘dinner jacketed boxing expert’. Live TV has taken legal advice and been assured that a reconstruction of the fight would not contravene BSkyB’s exclusive deal.
The bout will be the UK’s first pay-per-view television sports broadcast and the result will be watched carefully by owners of sports rights.
