BBC One’s Children In Need programme was watched by an average of around 6.2 million adult viewers over Friday evening, indicating the tried and tested format is still popular with the British public.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here on ITV1 managed to take an average adult audience of 5.9 million, a 27% viewing share for the broadcaster, whilst a double bill of Coronation Street took 8.1 million and 7.2 million respectively (40.4% and 23.8%).
Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One on Saturday night once again outshone its ITV1 talent contest rival, The X Factor, gaining 8.8 million adult viewers on average, a 44% audience share. The results programme for the celebrity ballroom dancing competition was seen by 7.1 million between 9.30pm and 10pm (a 32% share).
Having recently moved the show’s timeslot so as not to directly compete with Come Dancing, The X Factor gained an average adult audience of 7.6 million (38.8%), taking 7.3 million for its results programme (32.8%).
I’m A Celebrity… lured 6.1 million adults to ITV1 on Saturday night (28%), whilst 6.9 million on average tuned in on Sunday night, a 29% audience share, compared to Planet Earth‘s 27% share (6.5 million) for BBC One.
