Chrysalis Attempts To Lure Advertisers To London

Chrysalis Radio Sales has launched a new package to tempt advertisers onto the radio in the capital.

The London Macro is a new concept enabling agencies and direct clients to buy an airtime package that spans four Chrysalis radio stations: Heart 106.2 FM, LBC 97.3 FM, LBC News 1152 AM and Jazz 102.2

The first advertiser to take advantage of the package is Hotels.com, the online provider of discount accommodation. It will use the new sales offering as part of its latest promotional campaign, which will begin next month across all stations.

Commenting on the initiative, Gerard Bridges, Chrysalis Radio’s London sales director, said: “This new London macro will provide ease of purchase for our clients, in the form of a one-stop shop spanning four major stations.”

The move is part on Chrysalis Radio’s ongoing strategy to improve its offering to advertisers, which saw the launch of dedicated brand team to offer clients integrated sales and sponsorship opportunities across LBC 97.3 FM and LBC News 1152 AM (see Chrysalis Launches LBC Brand Team For National Clients).

The group also recently promoted Sarah Pomroy to the role of co-funding director with responsibility for leading a team dedicated to attracting advertisers to the group’s three analogue networks (see Chrysalis Radio Promotes Pomroy To Co-Funding Director).

The latest RAJAR results for the three months to September 2003 brought good news to Chrysalis Radio’s flagship Heart 106.2, which overtook Capital 95.8 FM to command a greater share of listening (see RAJAR Results Q3 2003: Heart Challenges Capital For Top Spot).

However, Capital still retains its lead in terms of weekly reach and is on the offensive with a number of changes to its programming line-up designed to reposition it towards its core youth audience (see 95.8 Capital FM Repositions For Youth Audience).
