Chrysalis Radio has secured a new three year deal to handle all national airtime advertising sales for Guardian Media Group’s portfolio of radio stations.
The deal will see Chrysalis Radio take on all national sponsorship and promotions activity for GMG Radio’s five Jazz FM, Real Radio and Smooth stations, while continuing its current role of selling national airtime for the group.
Chrysalis has also been awarded the contract to sell local airtime for GMG Radio’s Jazz FM station in London, which saw its weekly reach increase by an impressive 23.5% year on year to 835,000, according to the latest RAJAR results for the three months to December.
As part of the deal, which begins this month, Jazz FM’s ten-strong local sales and sponsorship and promotions team will be integrated into Chrysalis Radio’s existing sales division, which is based at the group’s head-quarters in London.
Commenting on the deal, Don Thomson Chrysalis Radio’s commercial director, said: “This further cements our already strong relationship with GMG Radio and enables Chrysalis Radio to offer the Heart, LBC and Jazz FM brands to all advertisers in London.”
GMG Radio Chief Executive John Myers, added: “Chrysalis Radio are producing great results for our stations and this is a natural progression for us. In London, Jazz FM is now part of an extremely attractive buy for local advertisers.”
Earlier this month GMG Radio has appointed Clear Marketing to launch a cross-platform advertising campaign to promote the forthcoming launch of its new Smooth FM station, which replaces Jazz FM across the Northwest of England (see GMG Appoints Clear Marketing For Smooth FM Launch).
