Chrysalis Losses Drop To £2.5m
Media group Chrysalis has announced six-month figures which show that its losses after tax have dropped to £2.5m from £2.65m last year. Turnover rose from £47.1m in 1995 to £56.3m this year.
Chrysalis point out that in terms of its radio interests (Heart 106.2 London, Galaxy 101 Bristol and Heart 100.7 Midlands) last week’s Rajar figures were encouraging (Newsline 17/05). The company has also submitted applications to run the new Yorkshire and East Midlands regional licences.
Chris Wright, Chairman of Chrysalis, commented that the group’s losses were anticipated as a result of the start-up costs of its new radio stations, its Echo record label and its feature film companies.
