Cinema Admissions – Fall Continues
The latest cinema admissions released by RSA show a further decline on last year. May’s average weekly admissions for 1995 were 1.6 million, a decrease of 16% on last year’s May figure. The low admissions figure could be explained by the release in May last year of Four Weddings, together with the fact the biggest releases in May this year were Rob Roy and Street Fighter.
However, this seems to be an unhappy trend for cinema, with this being the fourth consecutive month this year there has been a decline in admissions. May’s total monthly admission figure was 7.076 million, the lowest monthly figure since June last year.
