Cinema Admissions Increase By 2.9% In June

The latest figures released by the Cinema Advertising Association reveal that June’s average weekly admission rose to 1.41 million, up 2.92% on June 1995. The monthly total for June was 6.059 million, an increase of 3.25% compared to last year.

Overall, the average weekly admissions for the second quarter rose 12.4% year-on-year to 1.92m compared to 1.71m in 1995.

The rate of the rise in cinema-going now seems to be slowing down: since peaking in March, with a year-on-year increase in weekly admission figures of 40.7%, each month has seen its year-on-year percentage increase grow less and less. June’s increase of 3.2% is the smallest increase so far this year.
