Classic FM is claiming a record revenue month for September 1994 with gross income from airtime and sponsorship reaching £1.6m, 50% up on September 1993. Sponsorship has grown in proportion to airtime growth, with the advertising/ sponsorship split for September remaining almost identical to that of last year with ad revenue accounting for 78% and sponsorship 22% of gross revenue.
Nigel Reeve, sales director of Classic FM said “September is our highest revenue month on record since the station’s launch two years ago. Our current forecast predicts that revenue for October will beat our September total and reach £1.8m gross, with 92% of airtime sold at peak time. December bookings are mirroring those of last year already.”
