Classic FM Announces Biggest Change To Schedule Yet

Classic FM Logo Classic FM, GCap Media’s classical music radio station, has announced the biggest change to its schedule in the station’s 14-year history.

The award-winning station (see Classic FM Wins Another Award For GCap Media) will bring in a host of new programmes and presenters for its autumn schedule, with actor and presenter Tony Robinson hosting his own weekend programme called Tony Robinson’s Friendly Guide To Music.

Weekday and weekend scheduling have been reinvigorated, beginning with a new news, traffic and travel show called Easier Breakfast with Jane Jones, followed by an 8am programme for popular presenter Simon Bates.

New presenter Jamie Crick will host the daily chart show and throws open the doors of the Classic FM music library for an extended Classic FM Requests.

Lisa Duncombe becomes the voice of weeknights on Classic FM, before Mark Griffiths provides the soundtrack to early mornings with a four-hour show for early risers. Weekend mornings herald the arrival of a new presenter in the shape of 25-year-old Nicola Bonn, who has previously been with sister stations Severn Sound in Gloucester, Capital Life and Core.

Classic FM Station Manager Darren Henley, said: “We’re reaffirming everything that Classic FM is about – compelling entertainment and exciting new discoveries, all wrapped up in the greatest classical music.”
