Classic FM Magazine – Launch

Classic FM next week launches a new music magazine as an accompaniment to the radio station. With a cover price of £2.20 and an initial print run of 150,000, the appropriately titled Classic FM The Magazine has 100 pages and will be published monthly.

Published by John Brown Publishing, the magazine’s editorial content aims to reflect the overall style of the station itself, with classical music reviews and features. There are also general interest features, covering such topics as travel, arts, gardening and cookery. Features in the first issue include an interview with actor Simon Callow, Neil Kinnock’s taste in music and an article on the new film biography of Beethoven.

The magazine is aiming for a readership firmly in the ABC1 sector and has an editorial/advertising ratio of 70/30%. Advertisers in the first issue include BMW, Abbey National, W H Smith, Jaguar and EMI.
