Classic FM will extend its reach later this year, with an additional 11 transmitters going on-air between July and December to cover areas including Sheffield, Carlisle, Devon, Swansea and North Wales.
The second phase in Classic FM’s £5m transmitter network will increase the station’s coverage to almost 86% – adding 3 million potential listeners. The Sheffield transmitter is the first to be introduced, going on-air later today.
Classic FM currently has a weekly audience of 4.5 million.
