COI Adds Weight To TouchPoints2

TouchPoints The IPA launched its second TouchPoints hub survey today, following on from the success of its initial version released in 2006 (see IPA Launches Long Awaited TouchPoints Survey) and also announced that COI has signed on as a subscriber.

COI is the first non-media agency or media owner to subscribe to TouchPoints2. Mark Cross, COI’s communication planning director is an evangelist of the system having worked on the initiative at the IPA before moving to COI.

New features include the Data Presenter, which allows quick and easy access to ‘a day in the life of’ with two key strokes from the website, as well as a quick start manual and integrated TGI data.

The IPA also revealed it is in talks with TNS about the potential of integrating its SuperPanel survey. By the release of TouchPoints3 later next year, the IPA hopes to have incorporated further surveys.

Talking to NewsLine, the IPA’s Belinda Beeftink confirmed that the updated integrated planning system will be launched in September this year to accompany the new hub survey, with Fame replacing Caviar research for cinema.

However, online will still not be represented but they hope to incorporate an industry standard online measurement once finalised.

Jim Marshall gave a final rallying cry to the media representatives at the launch to subscribe to TouchPoints2 – “If you haven’t bought it already, please buy it – it is incredibly important and we need your cash”.
