Commercial Radio Achieves Record Share Of Ad Revenue
Figures just out from the Radio Advertising Bureau show that commercial radio’s share of display advertising revenue continues to soar. It reached 4.9% for July to September 1996. This is the highest share ever recorded by the medium. The previous record share in one quarter stood at 4.7%; this was achieved in July to September 1995.

The Advertising Association’s Quarterly Survey of Advertising Expenditure has reported that the annual growth in display advertising reached 5.7% for the period to September 1996. In this same period, commercial radio revenue grew by 15.5% to over £300 million. The medium is growing at almost three times the rate of the total marketplace.
