COMMERCIAL RADIO AWARDS ’93

The Commercial Radio Awards ’93 were held last night at the Grosvenor House Hotel. These annual awards are to recognise excellence in radio advertising creativity.

The overall Gold award went to Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO for their commercial for the RSPCA. AMV headed the overall league table of winners, with seven awards, including two for its Volvo campaign.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty took four awards, three for the Cadbury’s Boost campaign; last year Boost won the gold award.

Reay Keating Hamer took awards for its TDK commercials.

Other winners were DMB&B for Qantas and TSB, Saatchi & Saatchi for Procter & Gamble and HHCl for Bhs.

The New Hallam FM station won the category for commercials produced in- house. Virgin won the Station Produced Promotion with the promotion for The Big Red Mug.

Douglas McArthur, managing director of RAB commented, “The most motivational thing for the potential advertiser on radio is to hear superb examples of radio advertising.”
