NatMags’ glossy monthly title for women, Company, has secured FreshLook Colour Contact Lenses to sponsor this year’s High Street awards.
The sponsorship package includes full sponsorship of the competition, which will launch in the September edition of Company to find the best brands on the high street. The competition will be promoted by an editorial survey, advertorials, point of sale promotions and PR activity.
Company readers will be invited to vote in a range of categories for their favourite shop. This will take place through the magazine and in retail outlets including Top Shop, Oasis, Warehouse, River Island, Faith, Knickerbox, Miss Selfridge and Evans.
Commenting on the arrangement, Lucinda Bailey, sponsorship and events manager at Company, said: “Company is the high street fashion bible and teaming up with FreshLook, the latest, must have fashion accessory makes for a great partnership. At Company, we exploit the strength of our fashion retail relationships to offer FreshLook a unique communication through 1,000 stores across the UK, as well as editorial & promotions to offer real value for money.”
James Shoreland, strategic planner at Mediacom, which brokered the deal, added: “Company High Street Fashion Awards gave MediaCom an opportunity to communicate Freshlook’s fashion credentials in a stylish magazine environment whilst also enabling us to extend the brand offering beyond that of the Optician and into major high street fashion outlets.”
Earlier this month Company featured a special supplement dedicated to high street shopping, entitled Shop!, which may become a standalone title in its own right (see Company Introduces New Dedicated Shopping Supplement).
The latest ABC results for the six months ending December 2002 brought good news to Company magazine, which saw its circulation increase by 26.5% year on year to 330,373, up from 261,117 in the same period in 2001.
