Complaints Against IPC Title

IPC’s football magazine, 90 Minutes, has had a complaint against it upheld by the ASA. The complaint was to do with an advertisement for Loaded magazine featuring actress Danniella Westbrook suggestively sucking a lollipop with the words “Suck this” underneath her. The Authority felt that as 90 Minutes was aimed at 15 to 24 years, the advertisement for Loaded was unacceptable.

There was also a complaint about the use of the quote “When Hunter S Thompson says, ‘Oh shit, we’re in trouble now’ you can consider that to be a professional assessment” in the advertisement. This complaint was not upheld as the word “shit” was in small print and was considered unlikely to cause serious or widespread offence.
