Condé Nast And Ministry Declare Faith In Trash
![]()
Condé Nast and Ministry Of Sound have moved to deny rumours that their joint lifestyle title, Trash, is set to fold after just one issue and are claiming the magazine had a strong sales debut.
Ministry insists the pilot issue recorded strong sales and is already outselling many of its competitors in the music and style sectors. The dance brand is now working alongside Condé Nast to further develop the look and feel of the magazine.
However, it has revealed plans to undertake a number of creative, branding and content changes for the next issue of the title. Ministry and Condé Nast will also review the frequency of future issues and the bi-monthly magazine now looks likely to be reduced to quarterly.
Commenting on the magazine, Mark Rodol, chief executive officer of Ministry Of Sound, said: “The pilot issue has been very successful and we are now working with Condé Nast to ensure that the next issue has an even tighter fit with the Ministry Of Sound brand”.
Susan Douglas, president of new business at Condé Nast, added, “Ministry Of Sound’s Trash magazine has had an amazing debut with excellent sales. We are looking forward to making it even better in the future.”
Trash faces stiff competition in the crowded lifestyle magazine sector, not least from Emap’s cult lifestyle title, The Face, which recently received its first new look in ten years, following similar changes at IPC’s Wallpaper* (see Lifestyle Magazines Revamp In Bid To Put Out Trash).
