Cordiant Announces Loss Of £29.6m

Cordiant has today announced results for the 6 months ending 30th June 1995; there was a pre-tax loss of £29.6m, compared to a profit in 1994 for the same period of £15.3m. Revenue was £374.4m compared to £379.4m last year; however, the chairman predicted that revenue in the second half will be lower than the first half due to the loss of accounts and disposals. Account losses include Mars and British Airways.

The new business environment has improved from the first quarter of 1995, with wins including Comet, Johnson & Johnson, Royal Mail and Eurocard.

Revenues around the world have increased, apart from in the United States; Charlie Scott commented, “The US is therefore a top priority focus for the management.”
