Corrie Double Bill Lures 10 Million To ITV1

Corrie ITV1 was given a much needed ratings boost last night with a dramatic double bill of Coronation Street pulling in more than ten million adult viewers each.

The first episode, Bev and Fred’s wedding day, was seen by more than half of the television viewing audience in the 7.30pm slot, whilst the tragedy of the groom’s death in the second episode took a 45% viewing share at 8.30pm.

Earlier on the channel, Emmerdale was watched by 7.6 million adult viewers on average, taking a 43% viewing share, whilst the last episode of this series of Life Begins, starring Caroline Quentin, managed to get 5.6 million adult viewers, a 25% audience share.

Also at 9pm, Spooks on BBC One, took a 24% audience share, being seen by 5.3 million adult viewers on average. Eastenders was watched by more than eight million adult viewers (39%) at 8pm, whilst Autumnwatch on BBC Two at the same time lured just over three million adults (14%).

Earlier, Strictly Come Dancing on BBC Two was watched by an average of 1.7 million adult viewers (11%), beaten by far by both the BBC One Regional News and the ITV Evening News.
