Country Music Radio May Buy RTL Country 1035

It is understood that CLT-Ufa’s 100% stake in RTL Country 1035 may be sold to European satellite radio station, Country Music Radio (CMR). The station is to expected to fetch around £2 million.

CLT-Ufa put stakes in all its UK Radio stations up for sale earlier this year (see CLT To Examine Bids For Its UK Radio Stations). It currently holds shares in RTL Country, Atlantic 252 and Talk Radio; Talk has been at the centre of a takeover battle between its management and a consortium led by ex Mirror Group deputy chief executive, Kelvin MacKenzie (see MacKenzie Closes In On Talk). It is understood that MacKenzie is now in the closing stages of a takeover of Talk Radio.
