Craft Magazine To Stitch Market
Argus Specialist Publications is planning two launches over the next six weeks, the first being a new craft magazine – Popular Patchwork.
The bi-monthly title will go on news- stands on June 18th with a cover price of £2.25. Popular Patchwork joins the other craft title in the Argus portfolio, Popular Crafts, which currently has a UK circulation of 29,760 (ABC Jul-Dec92). Another rival on the market is Future Publishing magazine, Needle- Craft, which pushed sales up from 85,000 in 1991 to over 100,000 towards the end of last year.
Popular Patchwork has an initial print- run of 40,000 and aims to attract beginners in patchwork and quilting as well as those already involved in the craft.
Argus’ other imminent launch is Woodworks, a DIY magazine due for release on July 2. The title will have print run of 45,000, aiming for a settledown figure of 30,000.
