Credit Cut On ITV Proposed
Market strategy director at ITV, Dick Emery, has proposed a reduction in the duration of end credits of programmes, cutting them to 15 seconds. Outlining his suggestions in a letter to the 15 ITV companies, Emery also proposed that programme promotion be withdrawn during peak viewing hours, to lessen the chance of losing audiences during advertising breaks. The Network is currently examining research into the effectiveness of programme promotions in terms of ratings.
