Crimson Publishing Makes Its Mark
A recent addition to the publishing world, Crimson Publishing has begun to make its mark on the business and computing sector with the launch of What Laptop & Handheld PC. A guide for the mobile computing consumer, the monthly magazine will analyse and review models in this fast-growing market.
Costing £2.99 the first issue is already available and has a dedicated internet site at www.whatlaptop.co.uk. It had an initial print run of 100,000 with average circulation thought to settle at 50-60,000. The launch is combined with a £120,000 media campaign based around the underground, airports and taxis as well as ads in the trade press.
The company’s first launch will quickly be followed by a second title in November. e. business is a business-to-business title which will target corporations with a turnover of £25 million or more and give them practical advice without lots of technical jargon on e-commerce and e-business strategy. The monthly will cost £3.00 and have an initial print run of 30,000 which is expected to settle at 20,000. Detailed plans for its launch have still to be finalised but it will also have a web site.
The third title for the company will only be available as an internet title. www.startups.co.uk will provide help for companies starting up businesses and provide practical advice and help on such matters as banking and marketing. It is aimed at small to medium-sized businesses and will go live towards the end of this year.
The company, which was set up by David Lester in February, has plans for further titles on business and technology subjects next year.
