CSA Boosts Sales Team

Carlton Screen Advertising (CSA) is restructuring its sales team to cope with the continuing demand for cinema advertising.

Following the departure of Sally Barker, Gemma Atkinson has been promoted to sales controller overseeing all agency and client sales as well as the cinema poster team, which was set up last year in response to growing calls for six sheet posters in cinema foyers (see Carlton Screen Advertising Opens Up New ‘Outdoor’ Market).

The agency sales team has been strengthened with the appointment of two new agency sales managers. Lisa Hines joins from the Guardian Newspaper Group, where she was a sales executive and Jo Fraser joins from Emap, where she was a radio promotions executive.

Jeremy Playle, formerly of Real Media, joins as a client sales manager on 1 November and two new graduates, Ian Cartwright and Toby Whitaker, have been recruited for trainee sales positions.

Internally James Dobbin moves from agency sales to the sponsorship and promotion department.

Commenting on the appointments, Carlton Screen Advertising’s joint sales director, Nicolette Homes, said: “Cinema advertising is extremely buoyant at the moment and we have budgeted to cope with the increase in demand, which we anticipate to continue.”

During the nineties cinema advertising recorded the largest growth of all the UK advertising media (see Cinema Advertising Shows A Decade Of Growth) and the growing popularity and development of multiplex cinemas means that an increasing amount of advertisers are being drawn to the medium.
