The Central Statistical Office has published its 30th annual edition of Regional Trends. Cost is £34.95 from HMSO and booksellers.
A flavour of the facts included this year:
* Nearly two thirds of adults in Yorkshire & Humberside took a holiday in 1994, the highest proportion of any region in Great Britain.
* People in East Anglia are less likely than those in any other region to be heavy smokers, but also the least likely to be non drinkers.
* On average the oldest cars are owned by those living in the South West.
