Cable and telecommunications operator Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) saw shares boosted by 38˝p to 691p today after rumours that the company is interested in forging closer links with rival cable operator, Telewest Communications.
Also CWC’s parent company, Cable & Wireless, today announced that it has acquired MCI’s US internet business – one of the largest in the world – for £1,070 million.
