Daily Mail TV Speculation

The Daily Mail & General Trust is believed to be in negotiations with BSkyB to set up a new cable channel.

The channel, dubbed “Daily Mail TV”, would be aimed at a mostly female audience broadcasting lifestyle and fashion programming to mimic the Mail‘s mid-market appeal. Under the terms of the deal the channel would launch at the end of the year as part of BSkyB’s digital satellite plans. DMGT already runs the local cable station Channel One though it is said that any new channel would be a departure from this format.

Both BSkyB and DMGT would not comment on this speculation.
