The Daily Telegraph has been voted the newspaper of choice for business readers in a poll carried out by YouGov.
The survey asked 1635 senior managers to choose the quality daily newspaper they would rely on for both business news and information on stocks and shares from a list of The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and The Independent. The Daily Telegraph topped both lists.
Among quality daily newspapers The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and The Independent, The Daily Telegraph came out as the number one choice for business. Of those who would choose one of these newspapers, 44% favoured The Daily Telegraph. When asked the same question for stocks and shares, the publications fell into the same order again, with 46% choosing The Daily Telegraph, 28% The Times, 20% The Guardian and 7% The Independent.
At 57%, The Daily Telegraph also came in as the most trustworthy newspaper in the poll, followed by 46% for The Times and 43% for both The Guardian and The Independent.
Adele Gritten, head of finance & media at YouGov, said: “This research from YouGov’s business panel shows that senior managers rely heavily on The Daily Telegraph for their general business news, for information on specific companies and for news about stocks and shares. This research identifies which newspapers are most relied upon by senior managers, and which ones in particular are most trusted.”
