Daisley Moves Up The Chain To Head Emap’s One Nation

Emap Advertising has appointed Bruce Daisley as national brand sales director, with responsibility for the recently created One Nation sales team.

One Nation was set up last month to sell Emap’s youth radio brands nationally for the first time. The new team will offer advertisers tailored packages comprising the audiences of Kiss, Smash Hits and Kerrang! (see New Emap Team To Sell Youth Radio Brands Nationally).

Daisley will oversee the commercial launch of One Nation and will head-up national teams for Trafficlink, the Smash Hits Chart and SBN. He has over ten years experience of working on Emap brands and was most recently head of digital online sales at the company.

Kiss, Kerrang! and Smash Hits were recently among the first digital radio stations to have their audiences measured by RAJAR. Dance music station Kiss saw its weekly reach rise to 2.4 million, while Smash Hits attracted 759,00 listeners and Kerrang! drew 771,000.

Emap’s broadcast sales director, Tim Bleakley, said: “Bruce will lead the team that will turn the RAJAR into revenue and lead the market in selling and marketing what the RAB is describing as new radio.”

He added: “One Nation incorporates all aspects of the under 35 market, covering the three tribes of pop, dance and rock audiences. It creates a completely new access point for advertisers who want national radio campaigns.”

Earlier this month Emap announced plans to launch three new national digital radio stations – The Hits, Q and Magic – on Freeview, in a move which underlines its commitment to the growth of the medium (see Emap Rolls Out New Digital Radio Stations On Freeview).

The group also recently revealed that radio revenues slightly under performed the market during the year in the year to March 2003, dropping by 1% (see Emap Earmarks £23m For New Launches, Results In Line).
