Davies To Take Over As FHM Editor
![]()
Emap have announced that David Davies is to take over from Anthony Noguera as editor of its flagship men’s title FHM.
Davies will take up the position from 20 August and will report to CEO of the Emap Elan Network, Barry McIlheney and managing director of FHM International, Chris Llewellyn. He replaces Anthony Noguera who last week announced he was quitting to head up Emap’s new projects division.
Davies, formerly managing director of Emap Elan’s men’s titles, joined the company in 1997 and has played a key role in a number of Emap launches, including the ill-fated Project Floyd, which was suspended last month (see Emap Suspends Project Floyd).
Davies is an experienced player in the men’s market and has edited titles such as Mixmag and Q. As editor of Heat he was also instrumental in transforming the magazine from a unisex glossy into a successful female celebrity weekly. Davies takes over as editor of FHM, which is the market leader in the men’s sector, at a time when increasing competition and falling circulation figures are taking their toll on the industry.
