DBC Unveils Online Booking Portal For Outdoor Ad Industry
The Digital Broadcasting Corporation has announced the launch of an online media booking portal for the outdoor advertising industry. It will allow advertisers to book, schedule, plan and distribute digital advertising to LED displays and plasma screens in outdoor, point-of-sale and leisure locations.
The company aims to operate 10,000 outdoor sites by the end of the next financial year and is currently testing its network in the UK with plans to roll-out across high street retail and fast-food chains. From there it will move into Europe and South Africa.
The company has not named its clients so far but has said it is in discussions with fmcg advertisers and two London-based media buying houses. While the initial focus of the system will be outdoor, the group has plans to expand within other media.
Managing director Iain Blackwall, said: “[The system] allows the full management of these sites remotely and lets advertisers change their ads within minutes. Its the kind of capability that advertisers have been after for a very long time.”
