DCM hires ex-Essence exec as head of client

Digital Cinema Media, the UK’s largest cinema ad sales company, has hired Michael Bensley as head of client.

Bensley joins from WPP agency Essence Global where he was business director for more than two-and-a-half years working on BT and BT Sport.

He starts in the role immediately and will report to Davina Barker, sales director.

At DCM he will be in charge of building the client team and strategy, recruiting two client business directors, building relationships to raise the profile of cinema in campaigns and identify revenue growth opportunities.

Bensley started his career at TMP Worldwide before moving to Rainmaker Consulting and Opticomm Media.

More recently, he worked as media director at Omnicom’s PHD, media director at MediaCom (WPP) and communications planner at Carat (Dentsu) where he worked on accounts including VW, Mars, British Airways and British Gas.

DCM has also promoted Emyr John, who has worked as agency manager in the sales team for the last four years, to client business director.
