DE: New tough law

An amendment to Germany’s Criminal Code has banned the advertising of lotteries or other forms of gambling involving chance if they have not been officially approved. Infringements can be punished by a fine or a prison sentence of up to one year. The new regulation applies equally to services from outside Germany, such as via the Internet, telephone, fax and post. The amendment therefore appears to have extra-territorial reach.
