December Cinema Admissions Save Quarter
According to the latest CAA Advertising Admissions Monitor figures December’s average weekly admissions rose to 2.33 million, up 29% on the previous year, and 17% on the previous period. Such a large increase means that the final quarter 4 figures show admissions breaking even, compared to the same quarter last year. The annual average however show admissions down 7.3% to 2.20m
December’s total monthly admissions figure stands at 10,313,838, which makes the annual total 1.15 million – showing the same 7.3% fall on the previous year.
Undoubtedly the late December release of ‘Babe’ and ‘Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls’ contributed to the month’s good performance. Other releases included ‘The Indian in the Cupboard’, ‘The Santa Clause’ and ‘In The Bleak Mid-Winter’
