Dennis & Beyond Launches Customer Consumer Mags Division

Dennis & Beyond, the customer publishing arm of Dennis Publishing, has set up division which is dedicated to producing customer consumer magazines. The company already publishes customer magazines for CompuServe, travel agent Thomson and estate agents, Winkworth, but claims that this is a burgeoning market sector. In 1998 the market grew by 17% year on year and is now worth £308 million, according to Dennis.

The operation has been set up following a recent survey of senior marketers which found that 30% of those respondents currently without a customer magazine planned to develop one within the next twelve months. Dennis & Beyond has appointed Lisa Duke as the new division’s creative director and Jane Moore as associate editorial director. Both currently work at the company.

Duncan Grant, managing director, says: “The inception of a dedicated division is a sign of our committment to target aggressively the potential new business in the consumer customer loyalty titles sector and also responds to an increase in enquiries since Beyond was acquired by Dennis Publishing. Our aim is to ensure that marketing departments as well as agency account planners and directors are fully aware of the benefits that effective customer magazines offer”.

Dennis Publishing also publishes Maxim, PC Zone and Hi-Fi Choice, amongst others.
