Dennis Launches Monthly Gambling Magazine For Men

Dennis Publishing has announced the launch of a new men’s lifestyle magazine dedicated entirely to gambling.

The first issue of Inside Edge goes on sale on 11 March with an initial print run of 55,000. It targets an upmarket audience of 28 to 55 year-old men with high disposable incomes and an interest in gambling as a serious leisure pursuit.

The monthly title will have a cover price of £3.99 and will provide gambling enthusiasts with advice to help them make informed bets on sports, financial spreads and casino games. It will also cater to the growing interest in internet betting with an emphasise on online strategy.

The launch of Inside Edge, which is Dennis Publishing’s first foray in the lifestyle sector for three years, will be supported by an extensive marketing campaign including above the line advertising and sampling at key events including the forthcoming Cheltenham Festival.

The new glossy title will be edited by James Hipwell, the former editor of the Daily Mirror‘s City Slicker column. He will work with Dennis Publishing divisional managing director, James Tye, and publisher Warren Wooldridge.

Commenting on the launch, Tye said: “We have a first class team who are busy producing a product that I know both our readers and advertisers will love and, critically, we have got the timing absolutely spot on. This is the start of a whole new magazine category and Dennis Publishing will be right at the centre of it.”

Hipwell added: “There are tens of thousands of bookmakers, spread betting firms, both online and traditional casinos, as well as poker websites across the world all looking for a piece of your wallet. But until now there hasn’t been a quality magazine in this country to help gamblers turn the odds in their favour.”

Last year Dennis Publishing extended its computer magazine portfolio with the launch of a new monthly title called Custom PC. The magazine is intended for PC enthusiasts looking to upgrade their systems and develop their computer hardware (see Dennis Launches New Computer Title).
