Deputy Editor Quits Independent

Martin Jacques, the deputy editor of the Independent, has resigned. The move was expected after the departure of editor Ian Hargreaves, who was responsible for recruiting him 15 months ago. Martin Jacques’ successor is Charles Leadbeater, editor of the Independent Section II.
