ITV’s new daytime soap is expected to be called Night and Day. Details of the programme – the networks’ first new soap in thirty years – are beginning to leak out as the countdown to the start of production begins.
The soap was originally given the working title of Trafalgar Road and was commissioned to replace the teatime slot held by Home and Away before it was poached by Channel 5 (see ITV Revives Crossroads To Boost Flagging Daytime Schedule). The programme is expected to be based in Greenwich and to revolve around the lives of six families.
It is expected to be broadcast three times a week in the late afternoon slot from autumn this year.
