Dialog Sees Benefits Of Merger

Dialog Corportion, the company formed from the merger of MAID and Knight-Ridder (see MAID Shareholders Approve Knight-Ridder Takeover), today announced turnover of £44.8 million for the first quarter of 1998, up from £6.7m the previous year. Pre-tax profits, however, grew more slowly, up from £2.3m to £2.5m.

The company said that the integration of the MAID and Knight-Ridder business is now substantially complete and Michael Mander, chairman of Dialog, commented: “The significant progress that we have made during the first quarter on a number of fronts demonstrates that the newly formed Dialog Corporation has been successfully established on a firm and profitable footing, with a lower cost base than initially anticipated.”
