The Story Of Dibley, an hour-long special which reunited cast and crew of the popular British sitcom The Vicar Of Dibley, attracted more than 5.5 million adults to BBC One last night, making it the most watched programme in the 9pm to 10pm timeslot.
The programme gave the channel a 23.6% audience share, compared to a 16% audience share for Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother. An average of around 3.8 million adults tuned in to the witness Jade Goody’s mother become the first housemate to be evicted from this year’s house.
ITV1’s Soapstar Superstar was seen by around 4.8 million adults in the same timeslot (21.4%), whilst Channel 4 saw success with a new series of Relocation, Relocation, Relocation, which attracted almost 3.7 million adults to the channel (16.6%).
ITV1’s The Bill, also on between 8pm and 9pm, attracted an audience of almost 5.4 million, a 24% viewing share, whilst Ray Mears’ Wild Food took around three million for BBC Two, a 14% audience share.
