Digital TV Awareness Is On The Increase, Says GfK
Awareness of digital television is increasing, especially amongst those people who own hi-tech equipment, say the results of GfK’s second survey on digital television awareness.
A repeat of the first survey carried out by GfK in August (see Newsline), it shows that overall awareness of digital TV has increased by 7.4% during the month to 82.3%. This has been attributed to the increased advertising and publicity digital TV is receiving, along with the launch this month of BSkyB’s digital satellite service (see Newsline).
The survey also found that owners of hi-tech equipment such as PCs, fax machines and camcorder owners are more aware of digital TV than the rest of the UK. Compared to the national average, 3 times as many such individuals said that they had a good understanding of what digital TV means.
